September Skin Care Favorites

These have become my favorite and least favorite post to do. My favorite because I get to share with you all products that I’ve been loving that actually work, because I have the most sensitive-stubborm skin ever. But also become my least favorite because I have the most sensitive-stubborn skin ever. I have to go through a lot of trial and error with products before I find the combination that takes care of my skin during each season.

Now that it’s fall (finally) my skin is in need of more moisture and attention. All last month my skin was a complete mess. I was breaking out so badly, and using everything I had without any results of it calming down. The products I was using actually seemed to make it worse so I decided to just change my entries skin care routine. Here are the products that’s have been working very week this far.

Pacifica Instant Karma Facial Cleansing Oil

For all my fellow oily skinned folks a cleansing oily sounds a bit scary, but it actually can reduce the skins oily appearance throughout the day and make your skin healthier. I like to use this at the end of day take off all my makeup and it literally melts everything right off. After using this product for the past month my skin has really improved and my t-zone doesn’t break out as often as it used to.

Freeman Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask

This scrub has become one of my holy grain products, every time I take a break from using it my skin is just not the same. It’s a mask, a scrub, and a wash all in one. I like to use this after i remove all my makeup with the cleansing oil because it then scrubs off all the excess dead skin and dirt that the oil didn’t pick up. If I want it to work super deep in my skin I apply a thick layer as a mask, let it sit for a few minutes, scrub into the skin, and then rinse. My skin glows afterwards every time.

Neutrogena Grapefruit Scrub

I used to use this religiously in high school, and the smell just takes me back in time. It didn’t work wonders back then but it also kept my breakouts at a minimum so I decided to try it again. Still works. After about 2 weeks of using this my awful terrible cluster of breakouts slowly started to disappear. I used every trick in the book and this was truly all I needed to make it go away.

Neutrogena Grapefruit Moisturizer

With the face wash I also got a sample of the grapefruit moisturizer, which I’ve never tried before. I replace this with my usually nightly moisturizer to discover that it was one of the products making me breakout. I tested it by using this for a week than switching back, and the grapefruit moisturizer did not break me out unlike one that I had trusted for months now. Also when I saw small black heads or bumps on my skin one night they would be gone the next morning after using this. Neutrogena knows what they’re doing.

Shea Moisture Black African Bar Soap

I have raved about black african soap several times, it’s another holy grail item for me. I almost always use 100% raw organic black african soap but it’s purity can sometimes be a bit harsh on the skin. So decided to try the Shea moisture one, a generally smoother and more stripped down version of raw black soap. It still has all the benefits but with out the really rough application and over drying. This one also include shea butter so leaves my  skin super soft and moisturized. Definitely a good choice to switch out for the fall season.
