The Power of Meditation & Positive Energy

We live in a world full of stress, noise, negativity, and tragedy. With the most recent terrible mass shooting in Orlando I felt myself emotionally exhausted. Although I was not personally affected by it, this event as well as several other have left me in a state of hopelessness. I simply just slept the entire day hoping because of this feeling.

This morning I woke up sending prayers and positive energy to all the victims of the shooting in hopes it would lift my spirits. When that didn’t feel like I enough I realized my energy was not on the right level enough to be able to spread it else where. It may sound very “hippy dippy” of me but I’m a huge believer in personal energy.

If your energy is not in a good place it’s nearly impossible to be productive with it and with yourself. And if you don’t know how to change your energy a good place to start is with basic meditation.

I used to meditate all the time but over time I just stopped because life got to busy. That’s actually an even better reason to meditate. Feelings of stress and being overwhelmed with life in general can be taken down a notch with a good 5 – 10 of quiet meditation.

And it’s doesn’t have to be you sitting in a room filled with incense humming OMMM with your legs uncomfortably crossed, meditation can be whatever you want it to be. It can be sitting at your desk for 5 minutes with your computer turned off, it can be laying in your bed with music playing at the end of the long day, it can be sitting in your bath tub humming. Just taken a moment to reflect, think, understand , and most importantly be present.

Once again this all probably sounds very “hippy dippy” of me but if your hesitant just try it once. If that doesn’t work, try meditating for 5 minutes every morning for at least 1 week. Take not if you feel a difference in how you feel throughout the day, write it all down. Meditation can change your energy entirely and changing your energy can honestly change your life. The type of energy you put out into the world is what you’ll receive back, it’s called cosmic karma. The universe won’t give you something if you’re not ready or able to receive it. Mental health is just as important, if not more, as physical health. Take care of your mind as much as you take care of your body and good things will come.
